Assessments and Consultations
Major Referral Information:
Age Limitations:
We specialize in the assessment and treatment of Depression, Mood disorders, Schizophrenia and other mental health conditions in adult populations, age 18 to 65. We do not serve children and adolescents.
Referral by MD:
We accept new referrals at this time at our discretion. This includes initial consultations and assessments, or consultations for a second opinion:
Initial assessments and consultations are usually charged through the Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan (OHIP) and we usually require referral from a family doctor or other MD registered in Ontario and a valid health card.
We require patients to bring in information about current and past treatments, and any other relevant documentation. Patients are required to complete questionnaires providing relevant personal information and clinical history.
We have only limited capacity to provide ongoing psychiatric care and supervision of treatments due to the large volume of referrals. Patients may be referred on to other programs, including clinical trials, other appropriate clinics or continue care under supervision of their family doctor..
Self Referrals:
These may be considered for patients who are considering participation in Clinical Trials.
Referral by Other Agencies:
Referrals are from Insurance companies lawyers, other agencies and individuals. They are negotiated on a case by case basis. This includes Independent Medical Examinations, Court assessments, Reinstatement of Driver’s License, Competency Assessments and others.
These are uninsured services and are not billable to the Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan (OHIP), and charged separately at our usual rate for medical-legal services
